Two or three stealth bombers, flying in attack mode, launching what appears to be bombs on American fisherman and farmers. The bombs hit, with thunderous impact.

The jest of the commercial is one of the objects opens up and inside is something that is being released soon by verizon,

Come on dudes, your showing Stealth Bombers dropping bombs on americans, that was the best your warped little heads can come up with. Just indicitive of the anything goes mentality of our american marketing strategy, and advertising.

Auto-Saved: 5:21:26 PM

Recently i was pulling into a public parking lot off lincoln blvd, south beach fl. The lot is a pay to park lot with one way in and one way out. As i pulled in, a young girl was comming out the wrong way, and blocked my path. I rolled down my window and told her to back up about ten feet, then i could go around her and she could come out. Her response, was that it was my fault, because i had seen her comming out and should have stopped. During this rapport two more delivery trucks had pulled up behind me trying to enter the lot. She refused to move. I again stated she was comming the wrong way, her response," I got turned around and you knew that."

The solution was she finally backed up, i went in and she came out. Problem solved.

Point of story; It seems that many of us see ourselves outside of the real world, where we are responsible for our actions. We see other people responsible for our problems, our situations, or our safety.

The news is full of young people in trouble with the law, most of the time you hear their parents first reaction, they were mistreated by the police, the police have no right to arrest my child, my child was racially profiled, my child was just in the wrong place, and on and on and on.

Five young men in south boca attacked a 15 year old boy, threw alcohol on him and set him on fire, while laughing. Upon arrest 2 of them continued laughing.

Today, a muslim american soldier walked into a building in fort bragg, killed 11 wounded 30 before he was shot.

WTF. To paraphase a quote" Stop the insanity."

A movie is being released this month about a white well to do family who took a homeless african american teenager into there home, and he became a member of their family.

My daughter walked into starbucks, and bought a bag of coffee to be sent to a soldier in Afg. that she does not know.

My son called 911 while at a red light, concerning a man in a wheel chair that looked in distress.

I hope that i had something to do with the decisions they made due to my input in their growth.

Just as I am sure the parents of all the others mentioned herein had plenty to due with their action.

In the movie Parenthood, Kneau Reeves had a quote, "You need a license to own a dog, to go fishing, or to drive a car, but anyone can have a child"!

pull over law

for anyone familiar with south beach, miami fl, you are familiar with the McCarthur causeway. This past Monday, it took me over 45 minutes to get from the parrot jungle to the beach. This is a distance of roughly 1 and 1/2 mile. The reason, an unmarked police car had pulled over a semi tractor trailer, in the right hand lane. This being a traffic snarler from the word go, was magnified by the non uniformed officer, standing partially in the middle lane , door of the cab open, dealing with the driver. Ergo, three lanes trying to get into one! I'm going to use the word stupid, you can use one of your own.

This brought me to the implementing of florida's recent pull over law. This law states, that if you are coming up on a policeman, trooper, sheriff or deputy, that has pulled someone over on the highway, you must move over one lane, or slow to 25 mph. Think about this for a moment. You are traveling between 55 and 70 mph, depending on which road, you must now maneuver into the next left lane, who is going to slow down to let you do this? Ok lets say you cant get over, so you hit your brakes. What does the guy behind you who doesnt see the cop , nor expect you to rapidly decrease from 70 mph to 25 mph do ?

Now to the lets be safe law. Assuming that both traffic offender and policeman are going the same way, lets look for a safer, "get a cop home alive law." Make a law, that allows the offender and officer to PROCEED TO THE NEXT EXIT, pull off to a safe area, conduct your business and get everyone on the road saely home. No cars wissing by at 70 mph, no one not paying attention and running into the back of the cruiser. No one causing road rage while cutting someone off while changing lanes. No one scaring the person behind you with a sudden decrease in speed. The police cars have megaphones, pull the offender over, tell him to proceed to the next safest spot and be on your way.

The point of this article, is to put the safety of the officer in his hands proactively, rather than trusting other people to make the right judgement reactively. With all the texting, using the cell phone, drunk driving , reading while driving, eating while driving that goes on, why would a police officer ever choose to get out of his car and walk on the side of a highway?
.
attitude into gratitude

there will be an expansion on this in the future, i just wanted to use the phrase, ive never heard it before, and am intending on writing in depth about it. The idea came from my son in law brian, on his 10-sixths blog. He was in a complaing mode, about the swamp in the back yard, frogs croaking at nught, and the neighbors dogs at 5 o:clock in the morning. He finished up with being aware of the incredible family he had, the fact he had a job, and the two months of unemployment, which gave him 24/7 time with his son. What he did, without realizing was change his attitude into gratitude.

There are times in all of our lives, where we complain. Small complaints, or large complaints. We didn't get our way, we didn't get what we wanted, it always seems to relate to the word get.

" I once complained of having no shoes till I met a man with no feet." A famous quote I have visualized in my head thousands of times in my 58 years. The simple act of saying grace and giving thanks at meals is something that has been done in our family since the start of the Smith house in 1977. The ending of the prayer is not set, we say our same grace, then give thanks for watching over all of our children, but there is a unspoken rule that anybody can continue on with some special thanks or request that they feel needs to be said. This saying of grace is not some religious routine, no mantra preached by us to our children. It is instead a simple form of teaching them to say thanks for what they have, rather than complaing about what they don't.
.

instructions

I recently came into possession of a 1980 harley fxs 80 shovelhead. I have heard stories of basket case rebuilds, but this has to be the most extreme one of all times. I was told the whole bike was there in pieces. Upon picking up the 7 boxes with parts full of grease grime water and leaves, the boxes were under the eve of his house,i knew i was in over my head. They have all kind of service manuals, how to fix manuals, repair manuals. But , there is no build a harley from scratch. In the coming months, i will attempt to put my story in that exact context. The bike is together, running beautiful, and turning heads with it's age and looks. I will be giving credit to bruce, pablo, and mike from heaven cycles in Miami, V twin mfg, my man dayton, painter from Vette Smith in Miami, my brother in law mike, a constant source of " you can dooo it!!

Rules

Somebody cuts across two lanes and almost hits you. You go around him and cut him off. You look in the mirror, they are yelling screaming and flipping you off. What, they don't want to play anymore.

The trouble with breaking the rules, is that you never know what rule the other guy is going to break.

The universe gives us what we need, What we want is another thing entirely. If you were to wish for something you didn't have, what would you be willing to give up for it. Think about it!
